Description

These media converters are used to convert standard IEEE802.3 signal from RJ45 Copper Ethernet to Fiber with the aid of an SFP module (not included). Depending on the SFP used this media converter can operate on both single mode or multi mode

Our SFP media converters can be used anywhere in the network to integrate newer fiber optic technology with existing copper ethernet based equipment. This allows support of long distance communication or electrical isolation within a network design.

They can be used as instead of costly, across-the-board network switch upgrades.

Southern Element’s media converters are compatible with any brand of transceiver modules that operate at 1Gbps speeds or lower, this includes BIDI transceiver modules.

The media converter can be used as a stand alone device or within our Media Conveter Chassis. This will allow multiple media converters to be installed in a neat and easy to work with within a server rack while the power will be provided by the Media Converter Chassis eliminating the need for the external power supply.
